CONSCIENTIZATION PROGRAMME REPORT

INTRODUCTION As part of fourth semester B Ed curriculum a conscientization programme was organized on 18th January 2019 for the students of class 8F of VHGHSS Kollam. The topic of the programme was ‘Internet and Teenage’ . Internet has of great importance in this era. There are a lot of benefits as well as negative effects of internet. Internet has become inseparable part of our lives and irrespective of our age, profession as well as field. We are making use of in some way or another. Out of all the people who use internet for fulfilling their everyday needs, requirements as well as entertainment purposes, teenagers are often seen to be biggest contributor to the use of internet. Today parents have least control over the type of content their kids are exposed to and with the increasing number of teenagers who are finding their way towards internet, it has become a major topic of concern as well as fear for their parents. NINTH WEEK OF TEACHING PRACTICE (14/01/19 - 18/01/19)

It was the last week of teaching practice. So we were in a hurry to complete the requirements fast. On Monday (14th January) I took two lessons, Joints and Movement in class 9P and in-situ conservation in class 8K. Both the optional teacher and General teacher visited my class on that day. The next day was a holiday due to Ponkal. On Wednesday I took the lesson ex-situ conservation. It was based on concept attainment model. It was first time I using this model based lesson in that class.But it gone smoothly with out any confusions. On 17th January, Thursday I took three lessons, two on 9P and one on 8K. So I completed the 30 lessons of the second phase of teaching practice. On third period I took the lesson 'Type of Ex- Situ conservation, and on seventh and eighth period took the lessons Effect of steroids, Voluntary and involuntary movements respectively. EIGHTH WEEK OF TEACHING PRACTICE (07/01/19 - 11/01/19)

As teaching practice was about to complete on next week we were very busy with many works. Due to many unexpected holidays we were unable to  complete all lesson in time. So I took additional periods for completing the lessons.  On 7th January I took two lessons, that are Bones and Movement in class 9P and Diverse Ecosystem in class 8K. On the following two days there were no regular class due to an all India strike. On the next day (10th January) I took two lessons, Movement in other animals and Movement in Plants on class 9P. For that I bought an additional period.  Videos and charts were used as visual aids. Students were curious to observe the videos. On 11th January too I took extra periods even though no period was allotted for me on that day. So I took the lesson Biodiversity in class 8K and Joints and Movement in 9P. Even though working days were less I took more lesson by taking additional periods. Overall it was a nice experience.

SEVENTH WEEK OF TEACHING PRACTICE (31/12/18 - 5/1/19)

In this week we had only three working days. On Monday 31st December 2018 school was reopened after Christmas vacation. I took one period on that day.The lesson taken was 'Excretion in other animals'. on the next day it was a holiday for school due to new year and Vanithamathil. January 2nd was a public holiday ( Mannam Jayanthi). January 3rd also there were no regular class due to Harthal. On 4th January I took the lesson ' Food chain and food web' in class 8K. Fifth January , Saturday was a working day and I got two periods. So I took the lesson 'Muscle contraction' in class 9P and 'Ecological interaction' in class 8K. As we got more free time it was helpful for us to do our works, but it can make completion of our lesson on following days. So I planned to take additional period on the following weeks .

SIXTH WEEK OF TEACHING PRACTICE (17/12/18 - 21/12/18)

It was the last week before Christmas vacation. In this week we had examination duties only. I went school on four days . On some days I got examination duty , it was a nice experience as an invigilator. Signing on answer sheets, collecting and sorting them etc were new experience for me. On some days there were exams for different standards on same time. Giving answer sheets, collecting them according to the time schedule were our responsibilities that require proper attention.
